Description

Join us as we celebrate the life-giving rhythms of nature and acknowledge the turn toward winter darkness. As we end a challenging year, we can take comfort in the rhythmic cycles of nature - day leading into night, autumn into winter. During this solstice time, Jupiter and Saturn will align to create a double-planet "Christmas star," the like of which has not been seen since 1226 AD. Could this offer a reminder that in spite of difficulties, the wondrous is still with us? Join us at 5:00pm at the fire circle near the retreat center. Wear your mask to honor the well-being of others; bring your flashlight so that you may walk safely to and from the parking lot; bring your camp chair or blanket to sit comfortably around the fire; add a lap robe for warmth, if you so choose. We'll offer some music, stories and poems. We really want to include your voice; please email us at [email protected] to let us know what music or reading you'd like to offer to honor our Earth and the cosmos beyond. All are welcome who want to participate in this spacious, contemplative time. This gathering is free; all costs will be covered by Church of the Wild ~ Two Rivers. However, please register so that we can inform you should any unforeseen changes arise.
