L’Arche Portland is looking for tree sale lot managers for our annual Christmas tree sale in the Hollywood neighborhood, our 21st year at this location! Duties include greeting customers, assisting them in selecting a holiday tree and passing out candy canes to the kids. Many of our customers return year after year so it is a fun experience for everyone. You will also be responsible to help unload and price trees when they are delivered so the applicant must be able to lift and carry trees, which can be heavy. We work in all kinds of weather so cold tolerance is part of the fun and good warm rain gear is essential. We do have a nice dry shed supplied with snacks and everything you may need to help keep you comfortable. Many of our lot managers return year after year because selling Christmas trees is a fun and rewarding job. Lot managers will be using a point of sale system which is quite easy to manage and we will teach you the ropes. We will also require a phone and reliable transportation so that lot managers can be contacted in a pinch. We will be observing recommended Covid-19 guidelines again this year to help keep everyone safe. Wage is $15.25/hr. Hours are approximately 20-40hrs/week and you must be available on weekends as those are our busiest days. Lot managers will have 2 days off during the week. Interviews will take place next week (Nov 8-13), orientation will be Tue, Nov 23 - Wed, Nov 24, and the Christmas Tree Sale will begin Friday, November 26 - Monday, December 20.
