Re-grouping

Description
Democrats have been trying to re-group after the poor showing in last Tuesday's elections. A number of times it has been presented the reason for the defeat was the American people expected faster action on Biden's Build Back Better spending program. Whereas there is some truth to this, the problem goes much deeper than that. Biden ran on a platform of "uniting the nation"; bringing left and right wings together in harmony. "Reaching across the isle" and all that. But it became clear early on, his BBB program was far from bilateral. It wasn't until Manchin, Romney and other centrists got together and worked out a bipartisan infrastructure plan and handed it to Biden. At first he hailed the plan and promised to support it. It did not go unnoticed by the American people that it was not Biden who worked out the plan, it was others aligned in the middle. It also did not go unnoticed that Biden did a "180" and again caved to the extreme left wing. Then, of course, we have the debacle of Afghanistan. We don't need to rehash that again other than to note he lost tons of respect with the American people (as well as the world) over the handling of the withdrawal. Next, or before, he appointed VP Harris as the "Southern Border Czar". It took her months to even go down there and when she did, she went to a "safe" part of the border for a photo op, followed by a trip to Central America for another photo op, which most people thought she bundled even that. Since then, she has been MIA on the border. Aside from a few progressive, the American people want secure borders and the administration isn't doing anything to accomplish that. Americans recognize it was under the previous administration COVID vaccines were developed and certified for emergency use. But it is under this administration that the vaccines were introduced to the public. The rollout of vaccines has been a bungled program. Biden promise 75% of the population would be vaccinated by June. We STILL have not reached that goal. Inflation is on the rise. Consumer prices are not inching up, they are jumping up, and the rate of climb is increasing. I could go on, but this is enough. The current administration has let the American people down and they are expressing their dissatisfaction at the ballot box. Plain and simple.
