Description
Do you need a dog walker? Think about how you'd like to be left alone for 10 or 12 hours each day and not even being able to go to the bathroom. Is that a life you'd enjoy? Your pet deserves better.
For about $20 you can hire someone to come by, play with your pup and take him out to relieve himself. Isn't giving your pup a better life worth $20? Look for someone from your area because time spent driving is time not spent with your pup or earning a living, and if your dog walker can't make a living they won't be in the business long. My own dog walker worked with our dogs till she was 94.
Your dog walker should come to meet you and your pets and learn how you want things done and so you can see how they interact with your pets. The mid-day hours from 11-2 are most in demand. So if you can be flexible you'll find it easier to find the right walker. You'll do best if you can deal with an individual rather than going through an agency because those who work though agencies seldom stay in the business long because it's a hand in their pocket.
If you're looking for a place to board your pets please look closely. Boarding facilities run the gamut from a cage where on weekends and holidays your pet will remain and someone will stop by once or twice a day to feed and walk all the boarders to private homes where your pet will be treated as a member of the family, and everything in between. Don't be afraid to ask to see where your pet will be housed and how they'll be treated. An in person visit is a must and preferably with your pet.
