My name is Ben, I'm 26 living in Cap Hill and have been playing guitar for 16 years. I'm currently in a cover band primarily playing rock and roll, but have played just about every style. I've been an online English teacher in the past, and found that I love teaching and want to apply that skill to my love of guitar. My teaching method is very casual and I want to work with beginners of any age who have an interest in playing. When I first started learning to play as a kid, I found that the instructors gave me a lot of anxiety when I wasn't progressing as fast as they hoped. That will never happen with me. I believe that playing music should be a source of relaxation and expression, and whatever speed you need to learn is the speed we will go. I'm very easy going, and while I will give the student things to work on outside of the lesson, there will never be any scolding or annoyance from me if progress is slow going. I also believe in learning the things you want to learn. The whole reason we play music is because we like listening to music and want to be able to do what our favorite musicians do. Whether your goal is to play some hits around a campfire, write your own music, or even play in a band - I can help you get where you want to go.
