Description
We have had a 1 yr old red heeler/retriever mix with us for about 5 weeks and must re-home her because she's too active w/ our special needs kids. She's 55 pounds, healthy, spayed, house trained, good on leash, and current on vaccines. We want to find the right family for her. She would do well with older kids who are used to an active large dog or a home with adults only.
She LOVES walks and would make an excellent running partner! She even stops and sits at corners without a verbal command. She knows "sit" "stay" and "come" -- well, sometimes ;) She still has some puppy tendencies like jumping and chewing, but can be trained. We aren't exactly sure of her breed.
She's just too strong, and with this energy level, to be with young kids who have special needs. We previously had a golden retriever but he was older when the kids were born and much calmer. We thought our family could handle another large breed dog, but it's not working out and we need to re-home her.
*We are asking for a $50 re-homing fee to ensure she goes to a good home. She will come with her crate, bed, food dishes, tons of treats and food, toys and more.
