Description

Finestkind Music presents Joshua Eden with Connor Garvey ALL AGES Finestkind Music presents Joshua Eden with Connor Garvey Planted firmly in the rocky coast of Maine, Finestkind Music acts as an antenna spreading soulful sounds that reverberate from the state’s shore. Founded by drummer/producer Dan Boyden who seeks to shine a light on this creative community and its deep well of songwriters, singers and musicians through collaboration on stage and off. Joshua Eden’s sound tastes like Tom Waits, Joe Henry and The Wood Brothers wrapped up in a tortilla dipped in honey and served up at the local speakeasy, delivering a feast of gritty soul that ranges from smoky blues to melancholy ballads to rowdy swing. The fat notes of the bass resonate with Joshua's deep gravelly vocals as he recounts tales of the road, drunken sailors, emancipation, love, death, promises and destiny. The players' ability to surrender to the music allows them to deliver a sound that is honest and transformative, creating a sincere stage presence that continues to win them fans from all walks of life. Connor Garvey is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Portland, Maine, with the amiable presence of an entertainer, the lyrical depth of a poet, and the enchantment of a storyteller. Garvey leaves audiences uplifted and inspired through a positive message delivered in a way The Portland Press Herald says proves you can be optimistic and self-aware without being boring. His unique sandy tenor and masterful blend of rhythm and melody draw comparison to Paul Simon and contemporaries Josh Ritter and Jason Mraz. He wins song competitions. He fills rooms. But most of all he moves people. Sarah and Dan Boyden, the eldest and youngest of the Boyden siblings, are the Bookends. Music flows from both of their parents’ families so Dan knew his sister could carry a tune. But one day at a surprise birthday party thrown in her honor, Dan heard Sarah really sing for the first time. Since that day the two have conspired to make music together and now they are ready to take the stage. An all ages all inclusive music venue supporting the arts in their many forms.
