Description
Join Columbus Gives Back in volunteering for "The Dash" fundraiser for the Central Ohio Diabetes Association Our friends at the Central Ohio Diabetes Association are putting on a 5K fundraiser called "The Dash". The Dash supports Camp Hamwi and the youth & family programs of the Central Ohio Diabetes Association What: The volunteer roles we are looking to fill are for course & traffic control. As far as the course goes, we are looking to have volunteers stationed throughout the course to assist with directing runners/walkers in the correct direction and cheer them on. For traffic control, volunteers are needed to stand by the different parking lot entrances to caution cars that we have a 5K in progress. Part of the race is on a private road in the park and the park is still open to the public, but we don’t foresee much traffic in November. Where: Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park, 3800 Veterans Memorial Dr. Hilliard, OH 43026 When: Saturday, November 13th 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM Event Leaders: [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Columbus Gives Back is following all recommended social / hygiene protocols. Masks are no longer required for outdoor events but please bring one to the event in case our nonprofit partners require them. Masks and social distancing are still required for all indoor events. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About the Central Ohio Diabetes Association: The Central Ohio Diabetes Association helps Central Ohioans living with diabetes detect their condition, prevent onset and complications, and learn to live well with the challenge of diabetes. Founded by a group of local physicians, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association has provided service to the Central Ohio community for 53 years. Since merging in 2017, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association is now an agency of LifeCare Alliance. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected]. Columbus Gives Back- Service with a Social Twist!www.columbusgivesback.org
