Experience Foods of the African Diaspora in the community with Wallace residents
Taste the Diaspora Detroit, an agency that utilizes food, beverage, and media to celebrate and honor the rich history of the African diaspora, want to provide aid in support of Hurricane recovery for Wallace residents.
On Saturday, November 20th, lifelong residents of Wallace - Gayle Goudia along with her two daughters, Mary and Ederique Goudia, are bringing along friends and supporters from Detroit to provide a Day of Service to the Wallace community. Aid will be provided free of charge to whichever residents are in need.
On Sunday, November 21st, Taste the Diaspora along with The Descendants Project will host a Diaspora Dinner at the Wallace Farmer's Market to break bread together as one community as well as to honor, celebrate, and experience the many foods of the African diaspora.
The gates of the Farmer's Market will open at 1pm with Brunch starting at 2pm. Immediately following brunch, we will move over to Fee Fo Lay Cafe for an afterglow of desserts, drinks, and music from 4pm - 7pm. All Wallace residents are welcomed to attend and both events are FREE to all residents and their families.
