Description
Join us at Finca Tres Robles for a fun evening of East End tacos and beer celebrating over 7.5 years of farming in the East End. Come out and enjoy a great night of delicious East End food and drinks under the oaks to support Finca Tres Robles and commemorate 7.5 years of work and memories at one of Houston's longest-serving urban farms! We will be serving delicious tacos prepared by the 2nd Ward's very own Sonia and Adrian Hernandez of Tacos El Nene and amazing beer sponsored by Equal Parts Brewing, another East End business and longtime supporters of the farm. We will also be sharing more about what's ahead for Small Places and Finca and how you can continue to support and stay connected as we transition our farm. Tickets to this event are limited and will be required for each person in attendance so purchase yours today! The farm is an outdoor and rustic space so please dress appropriately for the weather and the location. We look forward to seeing you out on the farm! Fellow East Enders Equal Parts Brewing will be providing the local craft beer for the evening. Self professed "regular guys," the team at Equal Parts brew some of our favorite beers and have been generous supporters of our work. We consider ourselves very luck to have great beer brewed by great people right here in our community. The team at Equal Parts are innovative brewers and have collaborated with the farm on a few items including collecting a unique wild yeast at the farm and have even utilized some farm herbs in brews including our Mexican mint marigold. We've been extremely fortunate to have this wonderful group connected to the farm for all these years! Founded by Small Places in 2014, Finca Tres Robles, located in Houston's historic Second Ward, is one of the only urban farms within the 610 loop. They believe in the importance of making organically grown fruits and vegetables accessible to individuals and families on the East Side and have spent the last 7.5 years transforming a long-time vacant lot into a productive and inclusive space that serves our immediate community. We believe that that small places matter and with commitment, purpose, and passion their impacts reach far beyond their borders. Finca Tres Robles is Houston's only private farm inside the 610 loop, located in Houston's East Side just 4 miles from Houston's City Hall. Here we are growing herbs, fruits, and vegetables to be sold to individuals and families directly from our farm and at area farmers markets. We have been working to make it accessible and affordable to the immediate East End community as a way to begin to challenge the food system to the neighborhood, to build community, and to keep money here in our immediate, local economy.
