Mold, sculpt, layer, roll, and join precious metal clay to make an intricate pendant of your very own. 1-Day Workshop Saturday, January 30, 2021 – 9am-5pm Description: Some jewelry pieces LOOK complicated but are made of simple parts that join together easily. Donna will share her tiny molds for flowers, insects, starts, hearts, moons, and more; show how to sculpt additional components, such as vines and leaves; teach best practices for setting cubic zirconia gems before firing; and demystify how to design and layer a scrumptious, treasure-encrusted, bejeweled silver crescent moon pendant. Students will learn how to roll silver metal clay, sculpt simple components, use tiny molds, set CZs before firing, build a piece on an armature, join dry and wet elements, design improvisationally, and fire/polish/ patina their piece. Most students will leave with a completed and fired project. For those students who need the entire class time to work on their pieces, the instructor will fire and return their pieces within two weeks. Tuition: $95 + $45 materials fee Materials: Students may bring a focal bead about ½” long or purchase a Czech glass butting directly from the instructor in class. All other materials are provided. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
