Golf Outing Fundraiser to Support Scholarship and Mentorship Program in the City of Pittsburgh Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African- Americans, was founded in 1906 by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood. Early leaders of the Fraternity succeeded in laying a firm foundation of scholarship, fellowship, good character, and the uplifting of humanity. While stressing academic excellence among its members, the fraternity also works to help correct the educational, economic, political, and social injustices found in many communities today. Alpha Omicron Lambda Charities is working to continue this work by assisting students with financial aid to attend the college, or university of their choice and strengthening the Alpha Omcron Lambda Chapter mentorship program through its events such as the Golf Outing.
