Here are the top stories in Burlington today: Burlington's downtown safety program is officially being expanded and will run through the holidays. Green Mountain Concert Services will provide ambassadors to offer retail, restaurant, and hospitality staff safe escort to or from their vehicle, building, or workplace from 2:00 p.m. to midnight Wednesday through Sunday. The ambassadors will also be additional "eyes and ears" for public safety officials, de-escalate disruptive disturbances downtown, and direct visitors to their desired locations. (U.S. News & World Report)If you saw people running through Burlington with turkeys in arm on Saturday, you got a firsthand look at Feeding Chittenden's 8th annual Trotting of the Turkeys event. Each participants carried a frozen turkey from the top of Church Street to the bottom. The turkeys were then taken to Feeding Chittenden to be distributed among the 3,500 food-insecure families in Vermont.
