The New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs of GFWC (NJSFWC) Is proud to announce that they are the recipient of two grants. The Magyar Bank Charitable Foundation, located in New Brunswick awarded a $2,000 Grant to support the NJSFWC Girls Career Institute (GCI). Clubs across the state raise funds to send girls finishing their junior year in high school to a four-day mini college experience at Douglass Residential College, all expenses paid. The girls live in a dormitory, hear women talk about their careers, and participate in various activities such as a talent show. This grant will help send girls from under-served areas to GCI. The second grant was for $5,000 from GlaxoSmithKline. A portion of the grant will be used for a much needed upgrade to some of the office equipment, including two very out of date PCs. This is the third year in a row GlaxoSmithKline has shown their support to the Federation. NJSFWC President, Jan Hanson, said "It is wonderful when other organizations recognized the great work that we do and are willing to offer their assistance to help us meet our goal of helping others. With over 6,000 members in local clubs across the state, you too can be part of our great organization's contributions, achievements, and successes in our State and Nation!
