The Des Moines Police Department briefly closed 17th between Forest Avenue and Clark Street during the investigation. Police said officers and neighbors performed CPR at the scene until the ambulance arrived to take the victim to the hospital. (Local 5 - weareiowa.com) Des Moines police have identified the man killed in Friday's MLK Jr. Parkway crash as 42-year-old Lyndell Lamont Brown. Brown was reportedly driving erratically and at a high rate of speed on the northbound side when his vehicle crossed the center line and crashed into a semi-box truck in the southbound lane. The two passengers in Brown's vehicle survived but were injured, as was the driver of the truck.
