Description

Join us for a Gentle Yoga Practice followed by a Guided Yoga Nidra The Winter Solstice is a time when we can turn inward, restore ourselves, and let go. It has been celebrated for thousands of years worldwide. This is the time when we can start emerging from darkness and look forward to the light as it is the longest night of the year and slowly after days get longer. Yoga Nidra is a time where we can set powerful intentions as we begin to prepare for a new year. Perhaps you can view the Winter Solstice as a time for reflection and just give yourself some much needed self-care. 2020 has been a difficult time for all of us and we hope that 2021 can be the shining light of change that we all want to se in the world. Celebrate the solstice with us as we begin with a very gentle, seated yoga practice followed by a Guided Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is often referred to as yoga sleep. This is one of the simplest forms of meditation. Nidra is practiced in savasana and the student is guided through Pancha May Kosha (the 5 layers of self). Many people have trouble meditating as they are unable to sit for long periods of time, so Yoga Nidra can help to develop a sense of feeling whole. Things you need to know about Yoga Nidra: 1. Anyone can do it. 2. There is no right or wrong way to practice it. 3. It is something that you can incorporate into your daily practice. 4. Yoga Nidra may help to release stress. 5. You may find you learn something about yourself. Pre-registration is required for this event.
