Description
Hello – I’m a Sedona resident, from the Verde Valley. Let me begin by elaborating on my academic journey, which has a blurry beginning point, like most students. I didn’t do amazing in high school or have any interest in continuing schooling, until later learning about the incredible possibilities of an education. As an individual geared for change, evolution, cultural growth and healing I’ve been drawn to legal work as a modality of making a positive difference in our community. I’m a very big proponent for regular meditation, contemplation, self-reflection and simply loving yourself through a pathway to more conscious decision making and conduct in general. I’m now 27 years old paying for my own schooling, working average 50 hours a week, with only 6 classes from graduating with my first degree in a paralegal practice from Yavapai College. I make a strong resolve to be sober and stay connected to a purpose driven pathway to conscious living i.e. daily exercise, meditation, reading, and simply avoiding stupid situations that would prolong my path to becoming an impactful, capable, and useful individual for the cause of a better society. Law has been an interesting concept that both feels invisible and distant, yet somehow governs all our lives in this wonderful country. My goal feels centered around civil rights, Native American rights, (after spending a year on the Whiteriver Apache Reservation) and civil-tort litigation. Now, with only 6 classes left, I’m sure you’re wondering why I need support suddenly. Well… At the tail end of the degree, I’m now learning Legal writing and research, litigation, and how to navigate the software I’ll be using throughout my career. It’s time consuming and imperative that I learn and internalize the material. If I do, then I’ll be ready and able to begin shadowing or working the legal setting once I’ve completed the degree. I’m not looking for handouts or for anyone to blindly support my path without evidence. I would be open to meeting and keeping an open line of communication so you could see you’re legitimately investing into a good cause. My goal is to work only 3 or 4 days of the week so I can focus more on studying without financially falling behind on rent or bills. I have 6 classes left and I’ll be done in 2022! All financial help and insight would be very much appreciated for me to complete my path of beginning a paralegal career. Thanks again for reading and please pass it on.
