Description
Hello!
I’m working on a team of 6 or so people on a project for the Cultural Heritage Game Jam. (https://itch.io/jam/cultural-heritage-game-jam)
One of our teammates is of Indian heritage, and she’s been leading our group in putting together a game that fuses Hindu mythology with modern-day issues like climate change, looting of heritage artifacts, etc.
I’m tasked with composing the music for this project. We only have until November 21st, so I’m looking to coordinate with someone quickly. A friend of mine is a sitarist and I’ve been working with him already. But I’d be interested in connecting with someone who is classically trained in Indian traditional (Hindustani or Carnatic) vocal techniques.
Please forward this if you know anyone.
What the process would look like:
1. I send you music files. It might be a raga or it might be a more fusion-y composition.
2. You record yourself singing whatever you like over them (listen on headphones so the recording is only of you singing). You can improvise words or simply sing syllables. I only ask that you not use copyrighted material for obvious reasons.
3. I edit the vocals in and send it back to you. If we both like what we hear, we’re good.
Your work will be fully credited by name in the final product, and it looks like winners will get to show their work at the Dubai World Expo in December.
I also plan on creating a “devlog” which is simply a behind-the-scenes YouTube video where I show my process. You’d be welcome to participate in that, too, which you could use for exposure and to show off your talent.
Thank you for reading my post. Again, please forward this to anyone you know who may be interested. Cheers,
Rosko
