I'm developing a curriculum for teaching drums and I'm taking on motivated students for no charge. I already have one local adult student and the process has been very enjoyable. So far we've been doing everything remotely. Not meeting in person has not hampered anything in the process. The remote media tools are powerful, the process is engaging and multi-dimensional. Using every tool in the kit: High fidelity audio and video media, playing exercises, theory, metaphor, humor, anecdotes, detailed email correspondence, and even custom drum tab. In particular I'm interested in helping people who are struggling with jazz drumming. Or any player, jazz or otherwise, who still feels pain at the thought of not becoming a good player in this life. Or if you have a specific goal in mind I will put my focus there. For example, helping you make a clean drum cover video for your YouTube channel. My pedagogy is based on my discovery that the path to serious chops is wide open to you if you can shed a few pre/misconceptions. Often the ones acquired through reading too many drum mags, and going blind on too many drum books, and on drummer forums. You can certainly get there and we can have alot of fun along the way.
