Description

Join us in the garden as we harvest, improve farm infrastructure, build compost, manage beds, Plant Garlic and ready the farm for winter. Accepting up to 10 volunteers on Saturday November 13th Time Change- as it gets colder, its nice to gather later in the day when it isn't as cold as early morning. We'll start with harvesting - Kale, Sweet Potato, mustard greens, any radishes that are ready as well other greens that are available. November is garlic planting season! We'll get garlic in the ground. We'll also do a little leek maintenance. As always there's a bit of weeding to do and we will also do a little maintenance of the edges and pathways of the garden. We may also take a look at the plot maintained by the Hampden Family center Afterschool program and possibly weed and finish planting that space. The food in the Collective Garden at Toplot is grown directly for the people like you who use their time and energy to plant and maintain it, as well as for those who come to our food giveaways who may not have that opportunity or are in need. The Collective Garden is a co-learning space, so if there is something you want to know more about please ask! We also hope to learn from you and your experiences in the garden, the forest, or otherwise. Please bring drinking water. We provide tools, gloves and a hands washing station. There is access to a restroom nearby.
