Join us for a free in-store tasting of Old Line American Single Malt with Mark MacLaughlin, founder of Old Line Spirits Join us on Wednesday, November 10, from 6:30-8:30 pm at Norfolk Wine & Spirits, for a free in-store tasting of Old Line American Single Malt with Mark MacLaughlin, founder of Old Line Spirits. Mark MacLaughlin served for 10 years as a Naval Flight Officer flying the EA-6B Prowler aircraft. He flew over 60 combat sorties in Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as hundreds of sorties in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in addition to contingency operations in the Asia / Pacific theater of operations. Upon completion of active service, Mark attended the University of Virginia Darden School of Business where he completed his MBA. After leaving his finance career to pursue his dream to produce whiskey, he met Bob Stilnovich, a Vietnam veteran and the founder of Golden Distillery in Samish Island, WA, and one of the first producers of American Single Malt Whiskey in the country. Soon after, Mark and his friend and co-founder, Arch Watkins, moved into Bob's guest house to learn the business of distilling. Upon Bob’s retirement, Mark and Arch took over the business in 2015 and relocated tin Baltimore, MD, where the company is based today, operating as Old Line Spirits.
