Together, we will spend two days transitioning you from iron sights to pistol-mounted optics for defensive or duty use.
We’ll spend two days laying the foundation for you to transition from iron sights to your pistol-mounted optic. This transition is done through experience and knowledge that come from demonstrations, discussions, and repetitions.
Live fire will start with grouping before zeroing and learning to accept an imperfect sight picture. From there, and with the use of dry practice reps, the class addresses getting the optic into the eye – target line sooner from the holster and ready positions. The material will address concerns about downed and blocked optics. Equipment and mounting issues will get attention as well.
Given the time of year, you will be able to explore low light issues with your optic too.
This course grew out of CMS' law enforcement pistol-mounted optics instructor class as well as the general and intermediate defensive pistol-mounted optics classes I developed for Gunsite.
This class is for intermediate or better shooters who are transitioning to PMOs. While the essentials of marksmanship will be covered, this is done in the context of adapting to the dot. It is not a learn to shoot class.
Concealed carry permit or law enforcement credentials required.
The cost is $400 plus a $25 daily range fee payable to the range.
