Awaken your imagination at Todd Mattei's Meditations for Imaginations at Heaven Gallery in Chicago! FREE event, mask required Join us for Meditations for Imaginations session with artist and musician Todd Mattei. He will perform live music and sound for participants. The music is aimed not only at relaxation but at enlivening the imagination and stimulating memory. People interested in electronic, experimental, or ambient music are encouraged to attend. There is no spiritual or secular dogma driving the event, though you may bring whatever belief or philosophy you’re currently working with. The meditation aims in an opposing direction, towards a non-dogmatic embrace of the free imagination. Guests are invited to sit or lie in a comprtable position. If you wish, bring a yoga mat or blanket and a mask or bandana as a blindfold! Heaven Gallery is a non-profit and multi-disciplinary arts space in the Wicker Park neighborhood that presents artists and musicians. The gallery widely promotes an open proposal process and does not charge submission or exhibition fees. In 2018, Heaven received over 120 proposals from curators and artists. All of our programs are open to the public and include art openings, artist talks, concerts, film festivals and community events. Heaven strives to make art accessible to all community members; our art exhibitions and talks are free of charge and all music events are open to audiences on a pay-what-you-can basis. Heaven also hosts regular community events to help promote public discourse through discussion and education. Over the past 19 years, Heaven Gallery has established itself as a launching pad for Chicago artists in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, film, and digital art.
