Either way, this is a fun and safely distanced class in our studio. Space is limited. OBJECTIVE: The student will learn: how to plan a projecthow to execute a projectthe basics of the home sewing machinethe proper use and care of sewing scissorshow to choose fabrics and threadhow to buy fabric, thread, and notionsThis class is designed for the beginning sewer. We will be making a simple shopping satchel that will include techniques that transfer to a wide variety of projects. Let’s use our imaginations to create genuinely one-of-a-kind reusable bags. This 14” x 14” by 2” bag is perfect for shopping or the beach. Students must bring their own fabric. Fabric purchasing guidelines Outside and lining: 1 3/8 yards of fabric 45” to 60” wide for the Interfacing: 2 5/8 yards of interfacing 22” to 36” wideWebbing/straps: 3 ¼ yards long by 1 ½ wide (approximate width)Thread: matching cotton fabricBring your own machine or use one of ours.
