Chef competion to help raise funds to award over $10,000.00 in direct scholarships to Chicago high school seniors. Taste of Omega is Iota Chapter's major fundraiser and one of the premier social events of the "Divine 9" Black Greek-letter organizations. This event is sponsored in part by the I.O.T.A. Foundation (Inspiring Others To Achieve), a 501(c)(3) NFP. This is a "Taste of Chicago"- styled event where your single admission fee gives you access to sample dishes of the "Que Chefs" from the 5-state, Talented Tenth District of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity who are competing in this cooking competition. Each of the approximately 30 chefs prepares "taste samples" of their specialities for the more than 700 event attendees - who then vote to determine the BEST dish in 3 categories: Appetizers, Entrees and Desserts. This is the 16th year of the Taste of Omega and the 100th Centennial Anniversary of Iota Chapter's chartering in 1920. Come and join us to take part in this epicurean extravaganza. There will also be music and a cash bar. Proceeds from the event go to support Iota Chapter's annual cash scholarship awards of more than $10,000.00 made to graduating Chicago high school seniors!!
