A West Philly Tradition. Neighbors planting free street trees for neighbors. Join UC Green Tree Tenders for a morning of tree planting fun! Volunteer to improve the environment in West and Southwest Philly by planting a tree with UC Green! Here's how it works: Register todayMeet UC Green at the WoodlandsYou will be assigned a Planting Leader and a team!Load up supplies Drive in a caravan (some teams will be walking to locations close by) to your planting siteLeader will teach you how to properly plant a tree (we will send you some tips as well)Return to the Woodlands to drop off tools and supplies when you are finishedGo home feeling really good about what you accomplished for our enviroment and neighborsCheck on the trees you helped plant from time to time and watch them grow :)Bring your own gloves and a mask! Founded in 1998, today UC Green continues to improve our neighborhoods thorough volunteer greening engagements. Through partnerships and education we empower volunteer environmental stewardship in University City and its surrounding communities. UC Green provides educational and service engagements. Alongside volunteers, we have planted over 4500 trees in West and Southwest Philadelphia.
