Celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ at Christ Mertz Lutheran Church. This year will be unique in our celebration of the birth of Christ. COVID-19 has made planning for Christmas Eve a bit more challenging. To make it possible for us to worship together on Christmas Eve, we have had to make the following accomodations: 1). We have added an additional service to the worship offerings on Christmas Eve. The worship times will be 1 PM (NEW), 4 PM, 7M, & 10 PM. 2). Reservations will need to be made for Christmas Eve worship. Each family will place a reservation for their desired worship service. The maximum seating for each service will be 125. Once the limit is reached, the reservations for that service will be closed. Those without internet service may call the church office to place reservations. Presenting one's reservation (print ticket) upon arrival will be necessary. Seating will be assigned to accommodate appropriate family sizes and contact tracing as needed. 3). We will be offering a live stream opportunity on our YouTube channel. We are currently upgrading our internet wherewithal to offer the possibility of attending Christmas Eve worship virtually for those who would choose to do so. 4). Cleaning and sanitizing the sanctuary and obvious "touchpoints" throughout the church will be of the highest importance. We have had to purchase hand-held chemical foggers so that we can efficiently and effectively disinfect the pews, bathrooms, and obvious touchpoints before and between services. We want to be able to say that we made Christmas Eve worship, not only spiritually uplifting, but safe. Of course, masks and social distanced seating will be required. We are asking for volunteers to help before, during, and after services to help with hospitality, seating, sanitizing, and preparations.
