ASBURY PARK, NJ - Those seeking employment in and around Asbury Park need not be overwhelmed. The City of Asbury Park's Workforce Development program has launched a free, streamlined newsletter to connect residents to jobs and employers in the area.
"The City of Asbury Park's Workforce Development program is dedicated to supporting workforce and economic development by connecting Asbury Park residents to jobs and ensuring that employers have the skilled workers they need to grow, compete, and prosper," the city said in a statement posted to social media.
"[The newsletter] has several goals, but the primary one is to match Asbury Park residents with Asbury Park employers," said Asbury Park Director of Community Development Robert Goodman to Patch in an email.
Goodman notes that local employers are solicited by the city about every three weeks to assess hiring needs. The businesses then post advertisements on a weekly basis until the position is filled.
"[It's] straightforward and we also direct job seekers to known positions in adjacent, accessible nearby towns," Goodman added.
You can sign up for the city's "Job Seekers" email newsletter for current job openings at this link. Current openings include deputy court administrator, personnel officer and assistant chief sewage plant operator.
Businesses looking to hire can share job openings with the Asbury Park community by emailing [email protected].
