TriMet riders will be pleased to know that buses and other public transit will be operating on normal schedules. State and federal offices will be closed along with regional libraries; USPS will deliver mail as usual. A big shout-out goes to the Crandall Group, local realtors who donated a $1.5 million townhouse for the purpose of affordable housing. The business is the first 100-percent renewably powered specialty grocery store in the Portland Metro area, featuring electric vehicles and employing a range of other measures to help protect the environment. To that end, the City is working towards creating new guidelines for permanent homeless shelters, including how to choose locations and how to engage the public. Councilors will meet again on Tuesday, November 9, to discuss and possibly finalize these decisions.
