BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man has been charged after he forced entry into an ex-girlfriend's apartment and battered two people, according to Bolingbrook Police. Officers were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive at 8:19 a.m. Thursday for a battery in progress, police said. Officers found a man with facial injuries in the hallway of the apartment building, and the offender, Khalil Chandler, 18, was inside an apartment with another victim, police said. Officers heard screaming inside the apartment and heard what sounded like a physical struggle, police said. They forced entry into the apartment, and took Chandler into custody. Police said Chandler had forced entry into the apartment through a window. Once inside, he attacked a man, who was able to flee and was in the hallway when officers arrived, police said. A woman was also battered by Chandler, and he stole her cell phone and wallet, police said. The man was treated at the hospital and released; and the woman had minor, non-life threatening injuries. Chandler was charged with home invasion, residential burglary, aggravated unlawful restraint, domestic battery, obstructing justice and interfering with reporting a domestic battery. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
