What happened to Gordy Peterson?

Does anyone know what ever happened to Gordy Peterson the local architect / interior designer? He designed the interiors of the Byerly stores back in the 70's. He lived in South Minneapolis last I saw him. Gordy was heavy set, about 5'10 tall... He was divorced with one son. Thanks for your help!
