GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Greenwich Village has mostly recovered from its September jump in COVID-19 cases, city data shows.
From Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 in the 10014 zip code (Hudson Square/Meatpacking District/West Village), 18 out of 1,323 people tested positive for the virus, resulting in a 7-day positive rate of 1.36 percent.
The 10012 zip code (Greenwich Village/SoHo) fared even better during that week: Only 11 of the 1,190 people tested had COVID-19, putting the zip code's 7-day positive rate at 0.92 percent.
The lowest numbers came out of the 10003 zip code (East Village/Gramercy/Greenwich Village), where the 7-day positive rate from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 was 0.62 percent, with 22 of 3,545 people testing positive.
Greenwich Village's coronavirus case rate has fallen after it jumped in September to an average of 2.2 percent, in line with a rise in cases citywide during that period of time.
No deaths were reported in the 10014 zip code from Sept. 25 to Oct. 22, and data was unavailable for the 10012 and 10003 zip codes.
