Today, the sun will set at 5:39 p.m. in Atlanta. (Atlanta Patch)A Midtown shooting Atlanta police believe may have been targeted has resulted in the death of one man. According to police, the shooting occurred near 501 Piedmont Ave. before 8:45 p.m. Friday. Officers responded to Emory Hospital after a call of a person shot. The man died from his injuries and homicide investigators are gathering information as they work to locate a suspect. (CBS46 News Atlanta) A serial commercial burglar suspected of break-ins at 17 Atlanta businesses has recently been arrested by Atlanta Police. After opening an investigation into burglaries at several local businesses nearly a month earlier, APD officers and members of the Auto Crimes Unit arrested a suspect Nov. 3, who investigators soon linked to additional crimes in Atlanta. "We are confident this arrest has prevented burglaries from occurring at other businesses within the city," the APD noted on its Facebook page. "We could not be prouder of all the officers and investigators involved in getting this out-of-control serial burglary suspect into custody to account for his crimes." (11Alive.com WXIA) It took 26 years for the Atlanta Braves to clinch another World Series win. But, according to some fans in Atlanta, the parade celebrating the victory was over in minutes. The parade began at noon Friday with the team being bused down Peachtree Street, heading to Cobb County and on to The Battery. But, once the festivities began, many Atlanta revelers who had waited hours in the cold said they were disappointed to be rewarded with just several seconds of watching their hometown champions speed by.
