Description

I have a 5-6 year old (guessing) dachshund/terrier mix of some sort, a rescue. The earliest I can tell of her story is that she was found outside a farm close to Highway 36 - actually barking up a storm because she found another dog near a fenceline who was caught. The owner of the caught-in-fence dog took my dog in as well, posted an ad in the newspaper, and eventually she came to live with me. She came already 'fixed' and seemed moderately trained already, so someone at some point invested some time and money in her, and then lost her. She has a bad habit of jumping into cars - any car, mine, the neighbors, whatever - and also jumping out, ready to explore wherever she's landed. That's probably how she got lost in the first place... something I was thinking about when she hopped in my car ready to go to the grocery store with me (she was NOT coming). I think she does miss her old family, but she's definitely bonded with me. A little codependent, she cries whenever I leave for work, but she lives a good life and has made my life so much happier. I know most missing pets don't have a happy ending to their story, but some times it does happen. In the off chance you ever lost a young lady dachshund/terrier (or know someone who has), just know she's doing well, and has a good home.
