German Shepard Dog needs new home

This is Benny. He is a very sweet 5 year old German Shepard. He's mellow, low energy, and loves to cuddle. He's on the small side for a German Shepard, about 50-55 pounds. We're looking for a new home for him because of where we live. For the past year, he's had to live in an apartment and while he's a wonderful dog when he's indoors with us, he is very territorial and protective outside of the apartment. He seems to think the community areas are his property that he needs to protect, so he barks at other dogs and people when they get close. He would do well with a family who has their own yard, not an apartment or any similar community living. He will be a loving family dog, and his protective and territorial traits will make him an excellent guard dog. We want him to be happy and loved. Here are some of the great things about Benny: Great with kids Great with cats Housetrained Walks well on a leash Loves car rides Doesn't bark when indoors, but does bark outside at others who get close when out for walks. He doesn't get into trouble if left alone in the house. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vet care and vaccinations.
