This event is offered to ABWE missionaries and ABWE personnel and ABWE friends. The course is included as part of Field Preparation for pre-fielders. Developed by corporate training leader VitalSmarts, Crucial Conversations is a New York Times Best Seller book and course that will help you and your team communicate when it matters most. Crucial Conversations will teach you skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics — at all levels of your organization. In this course, you will learn how to: Prepare for high-impact situations with a six-minute mastery technique Make it safe to talk about almost anything Be persuasive, not abrasive Keep listening when others blow up or clam up Turn crucial conversations into the action and results you want By learning how to speak and be heard (and encouraging others to do the same), you’ll begin to surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on your decisions with unity and commitment. Taught by our own certified trainers at the ABWE International Headquarters near Harrisburg, PA, Crucial Conversations is the perfect fit for new missionaries, team leaders, pastors, and anyone with a desire to improve their communication skills. Location This seminar will be held at the ABWE International Headquarters in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.    Registration Fee $150 per participant (includes lunch, snacks, and instructional materials and other resources)   Accommodations Hotel information will be added at a later date.   Check In The check-in process will begin 30 minutes prior to the first session. You will receive a name tag which will identify you as a registered attendee.   Schedule  Morning Session 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Lunch 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Afternoon Session 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.   Discounts There are no discounts for this seminar.   Child Care We encourage families with children to arrange for childcare at home, or to bring a family member who can watch their children in the hotel or guest room.  For those who have infants, or who are unable to find caregivers, we are glad to provide childcare (for ABWE personnel only) at a fee for children four years old and younger.  Requests must be made to the event coordinator no less than three weeks prior to the event so childcare workers can be scheduled.  Please note that we can not provide or accommodate child care for non-ABWE personnel during these seminars.   Meals Lunch and breaks will be provided each day of the event.  You will be responsible for your own breakfast and dinner.  A continental breakfast is included in your room fee when staying at the hotel.  Several restaurants are within walking distance of the hotels.   Transportation ABWE is not able to provide transportation for this event. Please make all of your own travel arrangements.
