Dan Blakeslee with Coyote Island ALL AGES Dan Blakeslee w/ Coyote Island Maine native Dan Blakeslee began playing his music on street corners and subway tunnels of Boston in 1995, eventually leading him to tour cross country several times. In 2015 his dream of playing Newport Folk Festival became a reality, where Bob Dylan went electric 50 years earlier. He has shared the stage with Josh Ritter, Old 97's, Sean Rowe, The Lumineers, Langhorne Slim, Deer Tick, and Dawes to name a few. Blakeslee’s band The Calabash Club formed in 2008 and released their third album together “Christmasland Jubilee” a rollicking, jubilant Christmas album on December 1, 2020. Blakeslee is unafraid to bare his very soul on stage, emptying a loaded cache of emotion and passion onto the stage for all to witness, explore and devour. On November 18th, Blakeslee will return to Portland for a concert at Sun Tiki Studios. Opening up the night is Coyote Island. Coyote Island is the musical vision of Mike O’Hehir, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Maine. After writing folk songs for many years, Mike decided to explore genres and gravitated toward more uplifting and playful sounds. Combining folk, reggae and pop- Coyote Island creates a unique sound.
