Gold's Gym seeks a Building Engineer / Facility Manager in the San Antonio, TX area. The Facilities Department is responsible for all building maintenance, pool and hot tub maintenance, fitness equipment, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs. A minimum of three years maintenance experience, an in-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical principals, and your own hand tools are required. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team in all our district clubs. Job Qualifications: • Basic knowledge of electronics, plumbing, HVAC, pool maintenance, electrical, mechanical repair, and building maintenance • Must have or be able to obtain and maintaining a Certified Pool Operator certification • Possess good inter-personal qualities with both Gym management and customer contact • Must possess good communication skills with both gym management and Customer contact • Three years of applicable business experience required and preferred in the fitness industry • Must be detail oriented and capable of completing maintenance assignments with minimal interruption of equipment use by the customer • Ability to understand equipment operation • Trade certifications preferred Job Description Major Responsibilities • Coordinates maintenance activities for continuous operation for multiple gyms • Purchase and/or order necessary parts and supplies • Perform necessary repairs to facilities and equipment • Maintain pools and hot tubs to state and county health codes • Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel between designated clubs and stores as needed throughout the day • Be available to receive and respond to after-hours phone calls and the ability to respond to club issues and emergencies • Assists with the development and design of preventative maintenance schedules • Assists with the development and implementation of new methods and procedures, when needed to improve operations, minimize costs and effect greater utilization of labor and materials • Assists in the training of workers to improve peak performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
