We hope you can join us! Fun activities planned & we are excited to have the Town of Mt. Airy join in & plant a tree during our celebration. Join us for this FREE community event In celebration of 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. We are gathering at Watkins Park on Sunday, April 26th to paint flower pots, fill them with soil and plant a seed and enjoy other fun crafts too. Please RSVP to make sure we reserve your pot to paint. This event is free, however, registration does help us plan for how many are attending to make sure we have enough material for everyone. Got athletic shoes to recycle? Bring them! Your recycled shoes not only help the Earth but each pair you recycle will benefit the Barnett-Searing National Cancer Foundation, Shoes for Smiles. We are thrilled that the Mayor of Mt. Airy will join in for a ceremonial tree planting at the park in honor of Earth Day. To capture the fun we will have a photographer taking photos so you can enjoy the day. Topping it off, there will be fun crafts and Rita's Ice! Location This event will be at the Watkins Park large pavilion. Located at Ridge Road and Center Street. There is on-site parking, restrooms and the park is ADA accessible. Weather This is rain or shine as we will be under the Watkins Park Pavilion. However, should we have a storm where it is not safe to be outside and we need to postpone, we will communicate through Eventbrite . Please RSVP to ensure you receive event notices. Photo Release Pictures or video may be taken of participants at this Event for publicity use. By registering for the Event, I hereby grant the Town of Mt.
