Intermediate Numerology for Tarot
This class builds upon the information given from the Numerology class from my past Tarot in Motion workshops, but is open to anyone who already has some working understanding of how numerology works for tarot.
Some concepts you may want to be familiar with before enrolling in this class:
- Being fluent in reading Roman numerals, or whichever numerals are used in your own tarot deck
- How to take the cross sum of Hindu-Arabic numerals (sounds fancy, but these are the numerals right on your phone keypad!), to reduce a card’s (or more than one card’s) value to one of the numerals 1 through 9
- A general sense of what themes, energies, or key words you associate with the numbers 1 through 9 in the tarot. For example, The Magician, The Wheel, The Sun, and all the tens and aces are all 1 cards. These associations can be absolutely subjective, so no need to know a “correct” answer for this!
- How the zero (The Fool in most decks but also an unnumbered card in some), or unnumbered cards (the tarot court for most standard decks) can be read in light of this 1 through 9 construct. This can also be entirely subjective!
What we will delve into in Intermediate Numerology for Tarot:
- A brief history of numerology as its own divination and spiritual practice, how and why it intersects with tarot.
- Getting deeper into the 3 x 3 magic square of the numerals 1 - 9: rows and columns.
- Alternative ways to work with the numbers on the cards outside of this magic square.
- A brief history of the value of zero and how Hindu-Arabic numerals changed the world. How the evolution of The Fool from an unnumbered card to card 0 reflected opinions on the philosophies and systems that shaped how different people use tarot
