It is about celebration and education – celebrating the strides we have made in creating usable products and educating the masses about how usability impacts our daily lives. It is about making our world work better. It is about reaching out to the common citizen and spreading the message: We don’t have to put up with products and services that don’t work well and that human error is a misnomer. The User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) supports people who research, design, and evaluate the user experience of products and services. Over the last 14 years, the Indiana chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) has been involved with local UX professionals, students, educators, and companies to build a community of UX thought leaders in Indiana. We are celebrating 14 years of sharing the message that user experience is a critical part of making any technology solution successful. The UXPA was established in 1991 and continues to be the organization of choice for user experience professionals worldwide. The UXPA holds a yearly international conference, publishes new findings through both the Journal of Usability Studies (JUS) and through User Experience Magazine, and has 50 chapters around the world. In 2004, the UXPA established World Usability Day, which in 2009 was celebrated in over 40 countries.
