We are holding an informative session concerning our TAMS Academy and the opportunities it brings to talented and gifted high school students. The Counselor and Educator Brunch Delight event will take place at Sunny Street Cafe, 2150 N Josey Ln Suite 132., Carrollton, TX 75006, where you may enjoy some delicious food! This is a Come n’ Go event and will be from 7AM-11AM on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021. Please click here to take a look at their menu. The purpose of the session is to educate and inform counselors/educators about TAMS, being mainly an open discussion throughout, but starting with an overview of the program and ending with an Q&A. Answering questions such as: How does it works? What does it offer? Why and how to apply? Here is some content you will learn about: TAMS is a two-year, residential, early-university program at UNT.The program is for high school students that are passionate about STEM fields.TAMS has tracks and pathways for Health Professions, General Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science.TAMS has tracks for those that are also interested in Music, Visual Arts & Design and Media Arts. Students receive scholarships for tuition. Students graduate with 64+ hours of college credit from a Tier-One research institution. And what we know about ourselves is this…this is a great opportunity for students to embark on who have the motivation, maturity and academic background to accelerate their goals and empower them for a once in a lifetime chance. We do understand that during these unprecedented times schedules are packed and your time is truly valuable, not allowing you to come. Therefore, you are more than welcome to contact either myself, Rachel Dalton, or my colleague Luis Garcia, if you wish to communicate at another time. I also encourage to take a look at our site to learn more about TAMS at https://tams.unt.edu/. TAMS is a two-year program (grades 11 & 12) for high-ability students considering STEM careers. Students fully enroll at the University of North Texas and receive a scholarship for their participation in the program. TAMS is not in session during the summer. After two years, students will have earned 57 or more college credits and may continue their education at UNT, or transfer to other universities in state or out, usually at advanced standing.
