Grab your plaids, your red beanies, and your friends for THE FRENCH DISPATCH, the 10th feature film from Wes Anderson! Grab your plaids, your red beanies, and your friends for The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun, the 10th feature film from the polychromatic mind of Wes Anderson! Inspired by original essays published in The New Yorker magazine, the movie is another madcap, harlequin comedy captured in the director’s signature maximalist style. Centered on the French branch of an American magazine publication during the mid-60s & 70s, the film adapts three stories, in varying visual styles, as the magazine prepares to print its final issue. All punctuated by an ensemble of character performances from veteran (and first time) Anderson collaborators including, but not limited to: Benicio del Toro, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Jeffrey Wright, Anjelica Huston, and Anaheim native Tony Revolori. Denied its original 2020 release, The French Dispatch is practically begging to be seen on the big screen, where viewers can fully take in Anderson’s colorful interpretation of France. “Bursting at the seams with hand-crafted visual delights and eccentric performances from a stacked ensemble entirely attuned to the writer-director’s signature wavelength, this is the film equivalent of a short story collection.” — David Rooney, The Hollywood Reporter “Anderson delights in owning artifice, building a nesting doll of storytelling modes. The screenplay is so precise as to be word-perfect; Anderson has always had a flair for language, and it makes sense that this quality would peak in a film about writers.” — Sophie Monks Kaufman, Hyperallergic “The French Dispatch is Anderson’s most impressionistic and unusual film in quite some time, not to mention his most ambitious since his stop-motion adaptation of Fantastic Mr Fox. The sprawling cast list might have once looked intimidating, but they flit in and out adding colour and life to the headlines.” — Hannah Strong, Little White Lies The Frida Cinema is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching, connecting, and educating communities through the art of cinema.  Founded in 2014, it is Orange County's sole non-profit, independent cinema.OC's year-round film festival.
