This Beginning Yoga class introduces fundamental principles of alignment & and breath work. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. In this class the basic, foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers. If you have never tried yoga this series is perfect for you and is designed to meet the needs of those new to yoga as well as those seeking continued understanding of basic yoga poses.
No mat?- No worries, extras are always on hand!
~Classes take place at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment in studio 120.
~Class size is at an 8 student maximum. This allows for an intimate experience, ensuring each person receives and enjoys the full effect of Sampoorna Yoga- leaving feeling relaxed, refreshed, and enriched.
~Please arrive 5 minutes before 10AM. You'll enter at door 21 in the Smokestack parking lot near Trailhead where Seminole turns into 9th Ave.
~Class fee is $10 or $5 if you bring a friend.
~Payment is taken before class via cash or card. No checks, please.
