ALL AGES AD Blanco Lighthearted, Sarah Mootz Join us on Thurs Nov 11th for a great Fall evening at Southern Brewing Company featuring live music, food trucks & more! 9PM start Based in Athens, Georgia, A.D. Blanco is a full-sounding rock band that represents a unique blend of genres: organic indie rock paired with hi-fi modern alternative. This young group reflects their age with the energy they bring to live performances, while their creative sophistication reflects that of a group far their senior. “...the band fits in alongside palatable radio mainstays like The Strokes, Hot Hot Heat or Modest Mouse... Time Never Wasted centers around an impassioned melodic vocal delivery and is dense with interesting flourishes… the band’s core sound… weaves together elements of pop and garage to build emotive, danceable earworms.” - Flagpole Magazine Frontman Bennett Evans leads the group on guitar and vocals, while bassist Owen Lange and drummer Aaron White comprise an energetic and tight rhythm section. Their debut album Time Never Wasted released in summer of 2021, and was recorded and mastered with the help of notable Athens musicians Ben Hackett and David Barbe. Sarah Mootz is an indie pop/ rock artist with a lot of soul! Born a little blue, Sarah’s mature and “passed-annoyed” attitude influences her addicting sound. Although she sings with a defeated angst in her voice, Sarah Mootz is an empress of her emotional condition and carries this out through her confident vocal belts and honest-heart wrenching lyrics. Her love for music started when she recognized the power it had to pull her through any situation. It grew dramatically when she found a passion to write what was deep in her heart, fearlessly and melodies to go along with. She picked up guitar when she began crafting her original sound. UGA HEROs is a student-led nonprofit organization that works to provide quality of life care for children infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. Georgia has the 6th highest rate of pediatric AIDS in the nation. We serve about 300 kids, mostly from the metro Atlanta area, and 96% of them come from households that make less than $10,000 annually. Other organizations help our kids pay for medicine and doctor's appointments, so we focus on things like mentorship programs, sending them to summer camp, and buying them school supplies and Christmas gifts.
