A few years ago I met an amazing guy on Craigslist who was in El Paso going through the Sgt. Major Academy. I still remember meeting him at a popular Mexican restaurant. I thought yeah yeah let’s see how long this friendship lasts. I saw him from a distance amidst the aroma of tacos. He turned around and I was in awe. My life was amazing for the next several months until he left. I miss my buddy so much! Tom, I am sure you will never read this. As we approach Veteran’s Day, I think about you more and more. You rocked my world, created memories, and I miss you. You were the soldier hero who I needed in my life to teach me strength and courage. Your view of the world taught me to not overthink the little things. I am grateful that I got several great months with you until you graduated from the Sgt. Major Academy. Your short hair, killer eyes, and charm resonate.
For all of the veterans reading this, thank you. Thank you for your strength and for all that you do in this world. This chic thinks you are amazing.
