The Holiday Market will showcase a variety of one-of-a-kind gifts and stocking stuffers from local artisans and boutique businesses. and then... SHINE - A Celebration of Nature and Wonder December 4, 2021 - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm TSYS presents SHINE - A Celebration of Nature and Wonder, at the Columbus Botanical Garden. Come stroll through our outdoor oasis and let the Garden's winter beauty be the backdrop to new cherished memories with your family and friends. Take a stroll through the Walk of Stars, where each star purchased remembers, celebrates, or honors a loved one or moment in time. Skip down Candy Cane Lane and have your picture made with Santa in his Victorian sleigh, while Mrs. Claus keeps everyone entertained with stories. Get warm while roasting s'mores over the open fire in cast iron fire pits provided by Columbus' own Goldens' Cast Iron Foundry. Each night will have a different line-up of family-friendly music and entertainment groups, nature-inspired arts and crafts, and activities for the whole family. The Lillie Belle Market Gift Shop will be open each evening full of items to help celebrate and commemorate your visit, along with holiday refreshments at the Gumdrop Shop located near the S'mores Fire Pits. From considering how the lights can transform the shapes of the trees, plants, and flowers into unique works of art by the cast of shadows and light. By pausing along the path to the Sam M. Welborn Camellia Garden, as you take in the Walk of Stars, tune out the man-made noise and listen for the sounds of winter. It is a much different sound than what you hear from the songs of the summer with croaking frogs and rhythmic cicadas. Inhale the crisp air with the hints of roasting marshmallows and fire smoke in the distance. Nature provides us with the opportunity to create wonderful memories, have fun, and feel new things about how we engage with the world around us. Even in the winter, when all but the camellias seem to be dead, we know it is only nature taking a short rest before it springs back to life in all its colorful glory. We believe the beauty of the Garden during SHINE and this winter season will leave lasting memories in all who visit.
