The Arts Innovations Talks Series: Vibrant Expressions of Citizenship, will explore the story of citizens fighting for "unalienable Rights". In celebration of the Smithsonian traveling exhibit “Voices and Votes” (December 17, 2020 – February 6, 2021), Haitian Heritage Museum invites the community to a series of conversations on the struggles, heartbreaks and triumphs along the journey toward “unalienable Rights” of citizenship. We’ll consider what this crisis means for the exercise of our citizenship. Saturday-December 19, 2020 6:00pm Voices + Votes: Democarcy in America Opening Exhibition More than just waging a war of independence, American revolutionaries took a great leap of faith and established a new government based on the sovereignty of the people. It was truly a radical idea that entrusted the power of the nation not in a monarchy but in its citizens. Each generation since continues to question how to form “a more perfect union” around this radical idea. COVID 19 guidlelines will be presented and mask is required for entry.
