God and Family Program (Grades 4th and 5th)

The God & Family program is the second in the P.R.A.Y. series and focuses on the importance of family and God's role in a healthy family. The God & Family program, for 4th and 5th graders, provides an opportunity for the child and adult partner to explore their faith together, while "building a pizza". They learn the importance of a good foundation (crust) and how important it is for families to build their foundations on God. From there, the children will learn how their family heritage (sauce), their special gifts and talents (toppings), along with following the rules and guidelines (cheese) holds everything together. Of course as a pizza must be baked, families sometimes go through times of struggle and the heat of tough times, but by relying on God, they come out stronger in the end. The last step of this series is a pizza party, where they not only receive nourishment, but can share in fellowship with each other and learn to share God's love with others.
