Description

This 2 day course focuses on medical interventions during all stages of an Active Threat Attack. While this course has a tactical slant, it takes an all-hazards approach to providing care outside the normal operating conditions of most First Aid Training, such as responding to mass casualty or active shooter incidents. Students will learn skills and put them to the test with multiple hands on practical exercises. Topics include: Tactical Mindset, Tactical Medical Principles, Training on Proper March Assessments with and without body armor, Wound Pattern Recognition, Use of an IST report to Emergency Personnel, skills development of hemorrhage control techniques; use of chest seals; fundamental airway management; strategies for treating wounded individuals in a hot zone/ threatening environments; Self Aid & Buddy Aid; Medical Team Tactics; considerations for civil unrest; caring for pediatric casualties; techniques for moving casualties and tactical evacuation care. Each Student will receive a Gen 7 CAT Tourniquet at the completion of class, as well as a Stop-The-Bleed Campaign Certificate, and a Certificate from Iron Forge Consulting Group. *There is a $15 a day($30 total) Range Use Fee. Please bring this to class on the first day.*
